Azelis partnership to boost Malaysia’s functional food ingredients and pharmaceutical market
Specialty chemicals and food ingredients provider Azelis reveals it has entered into a distribution agreement with Gattefossé, a leading developer and manufacturer of natural cosmetic ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients for the beauty and health industries.
According to Azelis, it will begin distributing Gattefossé’s full portfolio of lipid-based excipients in Malaysia “effective immediately.”
“We are delighted to introduce Gattefossé’s pharmaceutical solutions to our product offering in Malaysia, building on our collaboration in Personal Care,” says Sylvia Wee, the managing director of Azelis Malaysia.
“The partnership strengthens Azelis’ position in the growing pharmaceutical industry in Malaysia through a broader product portfolio, enabling us to deliver innovative solutions to our customers.”
Expanding success
Gattefossé offers a broad selection of ingredients that improve the bioavailability, taste and flowability of drug formulations, enhancing stability, delivery and effectiveness. These ingredients are versatile and can be used in oral, topical and suppository healthcare applications.
The partnership expands on a successful existing relationship in personal care across Malaysia, China, the Asia Pacific and several other markets in the EMEA region. The deepened partnership also addresses the companies’ joint strategies to expand in Malaysia’s booming pharmaceutical sector.
“We are pleased to expand our collaboration with Azelis into Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare. Azelis’ deep market knowledge, customer focus, regulatory and technical expertise complement our offerings,” Angelito Delos Reyes, the GM of Gattefossé Asia Pacific, underscores. “We look forward to jointly supporting customers with effective solutions to address the evolving needs of the healthcare industry.”
The partnership comes on the heels of several recent moves by Azeliz. These include the acquisition of Hortimex to boost its footprint in the Polish nutraceutical and food ingredients sectors and a recent distribution agreement it entered into with Alvinesa Natural Ingredients.
