Canomiks unveils free, science-based rating platform for supplements and wellness products
As the dietary supplement and wellness product market continues to boom, Canomiks states that consumers report they are increasingly overwhelmed by marketing hype, conflicting health claims, and unclear product quality standards. To help cut through the noise, Canomiks introduces WhatToTrust. The free platform promises unbiased, science-backed evaluations of popular wellness products.
Canomiks designed the new platform to address the issue of transparency in the wellness space. The platform aims to provide a “clear, evidence-based” view of product quality and effectiveness and already includes hundreds of products, ranging from probiotics and protein powders to supplements targeting menopause, stress, immune health, and sports nutrition.
“Consumers deserve access to unbiased, evidence-based information when choosing wellness products,” says Dr. Leena Pradhan-Nabzdyk, founder of Canomiks. “While the supplement industry is regulated, it's not to the same standard as drugs and devices.”
“Regulatory compliance alone doesn’t guarantee efficacy studies, which are rooted in science. Our WhatToTrust scoring system goes beyond regulatory requirements to incorporate preclinical and clinical research evidence, ensuring products are backed by solid science.”
How it works
According to the company, each product listed on the site is assigned a WhatToTrust Score from one to 10, with 10 representing the highest level of scientific and regulatory compliance. These scores are determined through an in-depth review of publicly available scientific evidence, including:

- Information from the brand’s website.
- FDA-required testing disclosures (identity, potency, purity).
- Citations from PubMed and ClinicalTrials.gov.
- Clinical research supporting each ingredient and overall formulation.
In addition to scoring the full product formulation, WhatToTrust breaks down the data by individual ingredients to assess their scientific validity. Canomiks highlights that products are evaluated independently — with no fees charged to companies for listing — ensuring score impartiality.
Moreover, Canomiks says that if it does conduct third-party testing on a product, this is disclosed clearly in the score breakdown.
“Product ratings based upon clinical evidence counters the misinformation consumers sometimes hear that nutraceuticals are unregulated, untested, and unsafe,” Elan Sudberg, CEO of Alkemist Labs, underscores.
Confidence to compare and choose
Another feature of the platform spotlighted by Canomiks is its “Compare Products” feature, which allows users to analyze multiple products side-by-side based on scores, ingredient composition, and scientific backing. The company asserts that this makes it easier for consumers to make informed decisions tailored to their personal health goals.
Furthermore, Canomiks emphasizes that WhatToTrust is a consumer resource “grounded in science and not a marketing tool.” As misinformation continues to circulate in the wellness industry, the company stresses that this new platform marks a “critical step toward greater clarity and trust in health product purchasing.”
“WhatToTrust is a centralized, easy-to-navigate resource empowering consumers to make smarter decisions by revealing the science behind their chosen products,” Pradhan-Nabzdyk concludes. “It also provides healthcare providers with a reliable tool to confidently recommend trustworthy supplement options.”
