US-based health and wellness platform Hims & Hers Health has launched Labs, offering customers a new way to understand their overall health, how to improve, and maintain it. Through the service, users can measure key biomarkers over time and use doctor-developed action plans to improve their health outcomes.
Hims & Hers Health aims to increase consumer access to health information and follow-up care with the new mobile app. The company cites data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, indicating that 70% of medical decisions are based on lab test results.
However, access to such tests is often “limited or inconvenient,” the company argues, while the results can be difficult to interpret.
“Truly transformational, preventive care has been out of reach for too many people for too long. With Labs, we’re bringing the benefits of data-driven, proactive healthcare to everyone,” says Andrew Dudum, co-founder and CEO at Hims & Hers.
“We’re changing the status quo by making it simple to understand and act on results that matter for your long-term health.”
With Labs, customers can partner with Hims & Hers Health to gain insights across ten vital areas: heart health, metabolism, hormones, inflammation and stress, thyroid health, kidney health, liver health, immune defense, nutrients, and blood. In addition, users can test their biological age.

The company conveys results that are “easy to understand” and paired with doctor-developed action plans including lifestyle guidance and access to personalized treatment plans, if necessary.
How it works
Currently, the company offers two plans — Base and Advanced — to ensure eligible customers can choose the level of detail that is right for them. The Base plan includes one yearly blood test to capture 50 biomarkers in nine categories, while the Advanced plan includes two annual blood tests and captures over 120 biomarkers in ten categories.
Both plans include doctor-developed action plans and access to personalized treatment plans, depending on a healthcare provider’s inputs.
Based on users’ health profiles and results, they can access a personalized action plan with expert guidance.Labs users can book a test in the mobile app at a lab near them, with over 2,000 locations available in the US. After analyzing biomarkers, test results highlight which health areas require the most attention. Moreover, healthcare providers can help identify early signs of potential health risks or system imbalances.
Based on users’ health profiles and results, they can access a personalized action plan with expert guidance. The app helps users to improve over time with a mid-year panel in its Advanced plan and follow-ups with a provider.
Hims & Hers Health expects to expand its offering over time, planning to introduce at-home testing devices, additional biomarker tests in bone and brain health, and advanced diagnostics to detect chronic and life-threatening conditions.
“Lab results are at the center of decision-making in primary care, and we’re making them simpler, more personal, and more actionable,” says Dr. Pat Carroll, chief medical officer at Hims & Hers.
“Most chronic conditions are entirely preventable, but develop long before symptoms appear. We’re connecting the dots in a fragmented system to make it easier for people to get and stay healthy.”
Personalized nutrition advances
Personalization plays a growing role in the nutrition industry, with companies developing tailored solutions and testing services. For example, SurvivorRx launched a personalized nutrition platform for cancer survivors, while MyNetDiary marketed an AI-powered food app with real-time nutrition coaching and health tools.
Earlier this year, Nutrition Insight explored how genomics can help consumers fine-tune their supplementation strategies with a functional medicine expert, who advocated that utilizing genetic insights can enable consumers to optimize their health through tailored interventions.
As many services evolve to leverage AI insights, we also spoke with experts about how ethics can “fix inequities” in personalized nutrition, as the expanding use of the technology can risk deepening health inequalities and cultural gaps.
